We strongly support this crucial legislation. The bill would finally eliminate the telecommuter tax, a steep penalty often resulting in double taxation of income that interstate telecommuters earn at home. The telecommuter tax unfairly burdens telecommuters and their employers and limits telework adoption. Congress must make the Multi-State Worker Tax Fairness Act law! Gary Arlen

Gary Arlen is President of Arlen Communications Inc., a Washington-area research and consulting firm specializing in converging media, telecommunications and information services. Arlen’s primary focus is on the development of new applications and services that are enabled by digital, broadband and interactive media platforms.

For more than 30 years, Gary has conducted extensive research on business development and customer acceptance of new telecom/media technologies. He has served on the board of directors of a public company (games industry) and on advisory boards for numerous interactive media/technology ventures. He has been on the adjunct faculty (teaching communications-related courses) at George Mason University and American University and has guest-lectured at MIT, Harvard, UCLA and countless media, marketing and technology industry events. In 2009, he keynoted the NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference. Gary contributed on-going analytical commentaries for industry periodicals. He has served on the board of advisers at numerous technology start-ups and on the board of directors for an electronic entertainment firm.
