Dan Wallis
Dan Wallis has nearly 20 years of experience in the application of technology to help address business problems. Since beginning his career in business technology in 1990, Dan has used his ability to translate complex technical concepts into solutions across a wide variety of industries. While over half of his career has been focused on healthcare call centers, he has also worked in consulting, systems integration and custom software design, semiconductors and not-for-profit philanthropies. This wide range of experience has helped to develop expertise in strategy development and execution, successful project delivery, business process improvement, business continuity planning, and the management of mission critical 24/7 environments. He currently utilizes this experience as Director of Technology for KP OnCall, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kaiser Permanente that provides nurse triage and advice to over 4 million members.
A dynamic leader, Dan is experienced with helping teams develop successful technology hardware and software solutions aligned with organizational goals. A talented and engaging speaker, Dan has presented at several national technology conferences, and has been nationally recognized for his innovative work. Most recently, as a pioneer in the implementation of a virtual call centers, Dan was recognized by the Telework Coalition at the Call Center 2.0 conference for his work in developing a work at home program in a union environment. He is a constant and positive force for change, both strategic and tactical, and infuses his enthusiasm and energy into any environment.
Dan holds a Bachelors of Science in Business/Information systems and a Masters in Business Administration. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and certified in LEAN and ITIL methodologies. Serving as the Vice President of Programs for the San Diego Chapter of Project Management Institute, he is responsible for the delivery of educational and networking events to over 1200 chapter members. Additionally, he is an active member of Society of Information Managers (SIM) and works as part time faculty at University of Phoenix, teaching graduate level strategic management.
